Ingredients
Crispy Salmon Musubi:
- 3 4oz portions Blue Circle Foods Atlantic Salmon, thawed
- 3 sheets rice paper (6 if double layering)
- 3 sheets nori seaweed
- 1 cup cooked short-grain rice
- canola, vegetable, or avocado oil, for frying
Tartar Sauce:
- 1 cup mayo
- 2 tbsp diced pickles
- 1 tbsp minced onion
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Season salmon with salt. Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium-high heat and sear the salmon on all sides until golden brown and cooked through. Using a musubi mold (or your hands) layer a portion of cooked rice, a strip of seaweed, and a piece of seared salmon, pressing firmly to shape, then carefully wrap each musubi tightly with one or two sheets of rice paper. Fry each musubi over medium-high heat until the rice paper turns golden and crispy on all sides. Meanwhile, combine all tartar sauce ingredients together in a small bowl. Serve musubi hot or at room temperature with tartar sauce.
